Kokomo Johor Bahru opened in 2018, the first outlet our group has opened outside Japan. We wanted to give everyone living in and visiting the area the chance to eat the authentic, popular Japanese cuisine and delicacies of the Shikoku region.
Traditional sushi, made with vinegar and rare sugar folded through one hundred percent quality Japanese rice, and wagyu are our specialities, alongside the rest of our menu.
We have been humbled to be awarded JB Most Popular Japanese Restaurant since our establishment. Our heartfelt thanks to all our valued customers and supporters.
What makes us different
Our own Shinkansen
A proprietary high-speed rail runs through the restaurant, delivering orders to diners at rocket pace. It is the reason the food reaches you exactly as it left the counter.
Rice with rare sugar
Our sushi rice is seasoned with vinegar and rare sugar in one hundred percent quality Japanese rice, prepared the way it is done in Shikoku.
A room built for it
The ambience matters as much as the plate, so the outlet is designed in Japanese style throughout rather than fitted into a generic space.

Our parent company has run gourmet revolving sushi restaurants since 1983, serving local fresh ingredients across nine outlets in Japan.
